After researching the best treatment for scoliosis, I was amazed to find Kate, a Rigo Schroth trained therapist, right in our area! Our doctor at Boston Children’s Hospital confirmed that this was a worthwhile therapy to use along with bracing. My child enjoys working with Kate and x-rays showed an improvement within months! Kate’s compassion and knowledge helped us shift from an overwhelmed state into being empowered with a game plan to move us forward. I highly recommend reaching out to PT Onsite! - Kirsten

When I was diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis as an adolescent in the 1990s, I was told there was "no role" for physical therapy in my treatment plan. I was braced and had no significant progression of my curve. However, as an adult, my curve worsened and I had no tools or techniques to help it. I felt there had to be something between "doing nothing" and "surgery". When I started working with Kathleen at PTOnsite, I had finally found that "thing". Kathleen's care and the Rigo-Schroth method of physical therapy has been life-changing for me. On my first visit with Kathleen, I learned more about my specific curve and spine and how it was affecting the rest of my body than anyone had investigated or explained before. In the year that I have been working with Kathleen, my back, pain and curve itself have improved immensely. She tailored her approach to include soft tissue work to address areas of inflammation and spasm, and also specific detailed exercises to strengthen muscle imbalances. I have a daily regimen of exercises that has lessened pain, drastically reduced the amount of medications I need, and I have been able to increase exercise and family activities significantly. Kathleen and her use of the Rigo-Schroth method for scoliosis has improved my quality of life. I only wish I had known about it and started with her sooner. - Emily

"After struggling for several months with severe pain and limited movement caused by a frozen shoulder I went to see Kate. As a PT myself with over 30 years experience I truly respect and appreciate Kate’s expertise in orthopedics. Within a week I was regaining my range of motion, and I’m now back to using my arm without pain. Kate was wonderful about scheduling therapy around my work schedule and based the frequency of my treatments on my needs and my progress. I was so pleased with my results that I sent my husband to Kate for PT." - Maria Latham

"My son had a lower spine fracture for several months. Once he began seeing Kate she helped to identify the root cause of the injury which other physical therapists had not done. After several treatments and an at home plan of stretching and exercises to improve the areas that had stiffness and weakness, he was back on the sports field with no symptoms or discomfort. Not only did she help him heal but she gave him a greater understanding of how to take care of himself to prevent this from happening in the future. We cannot say enough about Kate's professionalism and understanding of her craft and are so appreciative as Aiden heads off soon to play Division 1 lacrosse in college. Thank you so much Kate!." - Robin Drunsic

I started seeing Kate in Feb 2021 to treat some minor knee pain before a ski trip. During those sessions we got to talking about how I had scoliosis. I've been dealing with scoliosis and pain related to it, since I was in middle school. I wore a brace for 2 years and have seen many PT's over the years with little to no improvement or relief and because of this I stopped going. I didn't think any type of PT would ever help. Kate shared with me about the Rigo Scroth based treatment she started offering and it sounded much different than how my scoliosis was treated in the past, so I decided to see if it would help. In a few short months I saw more improvement in my pain management than I EVER had in all my past experiences. Kate has taken so much time to help me understand my scoliosis and not only how to continue my PT exercises at home but also apply what I'm learning to how I approach my yoga practice/other outdoor activities I take part in. She is incredibly patient and hands on and really listens to what you have to say. I also really love that I did not have to go through a doctor referral to book an appt. I was able to easily book right on her website on my own time and she did a full consultation and it made it so much more accessible to me. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for help with their scoliosis or any other issue that would require physical therapy and she also treats some of my family members with various other needs!!! - Kerry Montani

“Kate's approach to treating is top notch. She applies her knowledge and experience and for me that has been getting to the root cause of my issues, treatment and an expert partner for a sustainable path forward and out of the cycle of high level pain management. Highly recommend.”Mary Grim
